WEDNESDAY MORNING

What makes Simple Simon so simple.  And what's the deal with the pie and the Pieman (A cook who cooks pies or a store clerk who sells pies).  Simple Simon first appeared in a 1685 story (Or a poem?) entitled Simple Simon's Misfortunes and his Wife Margery's Cruelty.  I don't know if Simple Simon's Misfortunes and his Wife Margery's Cruelty had anything to do with pies or Piemen.  I didn't know that Simple Simon was married.  If Simple Simon was married, was his wife having an extra-marital affair with the Pieman?  And why doesn't the Pieman have an actual name.  It's very awkward to be calling some dude the Pieman for his entire life.  Hey Pieman, there's something I need to ask you.  Oh no, the Pieman needs a proper name.  And if a proper name should be given to the Pieman, what should it be?  Should be Pieman be renamed Flamboyant Bob?  Does that work?  Simple Simon and Flamboyant Bob?  Should it remain Simple Simon and the Pieman?  And if Simple Simon is married, then what's the name of his wife?  It's awkward to keep calling her Simple Simon's Wife all the time.  Hey, Simple Simon's Wife, I need to ask you a question.  No, that doesn't work either.  Why not call her Simple Sally.  Yes, it's Simple Simon and his wife Simple Sally talking to the Pieman (Or Flamboyant Bob).  That's probably not the intent of the nursery rhymn, but sometimes a person has to wonder about these things.

While I'm lost in thought about Simple Simon, here's some photos of rock star, film actress and a cast member judge of the latest incarnation of the television talent show series American Idol, the one, the only, the extraordinary Jennifer Lopez.
