IT'S RAINING IN CLEVELAND, OHIO AGAIN

It started to rain while I was on the way back home from job hunting.  It's been raining nonstop ever since.  What started as a heavy rain has slowed.  However, rain continues to fall.  I'm ready for rain.  I'm ready to go hunting for employment no matter what the weather is outside.  And with Cinco de Mayo behind us, I wonder if we really know what Cinco de Mayo means (beyond the chance to eat Mexican food for the day).  Well the holiday of Cinco de Mayo goes all the way back to 1862 when Mexico won the Franco-Mexican War against France during the Battle of the Puebla.  To be more exact, Cinco de Mayo (Which is celebrated in the fifth of May) is Mexico's Independence Day.  Hold on a second, wasn't Mexico a colony of Spain.  Yes, it it got liberated from that country too on September 16, 1810.  Then came the Mexican-American War between 1846 to 1848, The Mexican Civil war of 1858 and the Reform Wars in 1860.  Napoleon III used unpaid foreign loan debt as an excuse to invade Mexico in 1861 and was kicked out by Mexican revolt the very next year.  However, Napoleon III gained control over Mexico anyway for three years between 1864 to 1867.  Democratically elected President Benito Juárez García was kicked out and replaced for three years by French Government selected anti-democracy dictator Emperor Don Maximiliano I.  Emperor Don Maximiliano I and his patron French Emperor Napoleon III was kicked out a second time in 1867.  Emperor Don Maximiliano I was executed.  Democratically elected President  Benito Juárez García returned to power.  So I guess the Mexican holiday Cinco de Mayo is just as much about Former Mexico President  Benito Juárez García as it is about Mexico's double victories against Emperor Napoleon III of France.

While I'm researching the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo, here are some photos of rock star Britney Spears and her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears.
