LABOR DAY 2012

Gentle Reader, today is Labor Day. Today is the day when we remember all the people who work for a living. Matthew Maguire, who worked as a secretary for the Central Labor Union first proposed Labor Day as a holiday in 1882. Labor Day was made a holiday in Oregon in 1887. Labor Day started to spread to thirty out of fifty states in the United States by 1894. So what started as a Labor Union protest tool by the Central labor Union became a thirty state sensation by 1894. And now Labor Day is celebrated in all fifty States in the United States of America. So I say to you Gentle Reader, Happy Labor Day.
