SHE'S A RUNAWAY WHO'S RUNNING AWAY

Cherie Currie and her identical twin sister Marie Currie in Encino, Los Angeles on November 30, 1959.  She joined the Runaways as the replacement lead singer on the same exact moment that Michael Steele (aka Micki Steele) either left or was kicked out of the Runaways.  Joan Jett was the original lead singer and lost the job to Cherie Currie for only two albums before Cherie Currie left the group for the promise of a lucrative solo career that never happened.  While Joan Jett and Lita Ford were the undisputed breakout stars of the Runaways, Cherie Currie was the alternate lead singer that everybody kept forgetting the existance of.   And while her identical twin sister Marie Currie was never allowed to be a member of the Runways, Cherie Currie and her identical twin sister Marie Currie joined forces on her second album.  And while having a rock and roll career fall apart when the rock group ends lead to the self destructive implosion of Sandy West, Cherie Currie is coping the diminishing of her career with hopes that one day she'll be a breakout star once again.  Renewed success is just around the corner for Cherie Currie and her identical twin sister Marie Currie.
