Little Boots was born under the name Victoria Christina Hesketh in Blackpool, Lancashire, England on May 4, 1984. Her mother had literary aspirations and found employment as a writer. Her father sold cars and a automobile dealership. All three of her brothers were younger than Victoria. It was at the age of five that she played piano and formally began lesson a year later at age six. She won a music scholarship to an never identified school of music while still in elementary school. She was writing songs when she was thirteen years of age. Located between Cleveleys and Fleetwood, Lancashire was Rossall School and that's where Victoria attended classes. Elsewhere In Blackpool, Lancanshire was The Blackpool Sixth Form College where Victoria continued her education. It was at the age of sixteen that she competed in the reality television talent show game show television series Pop Idol (The British version of American Idol. It was canceled after only two seasons.) where she was sent home not by the judges, but by the producers in the third round. She never even got to see the judges. Pop Idol creator Simon Cowel not having much interest in her talent didn't discourage Victoria though. She then performed for the Lancashire Youth Jazz Orchestra for a brief period before leaving Orchestra music to perform in a jazz trio group. Victoria received a first-class honours degree at Leeds University.
She played cover tunes composed by Nora Jones while attending Leeds University before joining the all girl rock band Dead Disco with Lucy Catherwood (guitar) and Marie France (bass).[ Victoria was both the lead singer and the synthesizer player. No drummer was needed or used. All three women were students at the Leeds University. Dead Disco recorded only four singles before breaking up before an album could be completed. Dead Disco was started n 2005 and broke up in 2008.
Victoria started using her stage nickname Little Boots for the first time ever in 2009 with the release of her debut album Hands. Illuminations was an ep album which also was released in 2009. Her latest album, Nocturnes was released in 2013. Victoria Hesketh aka Little Boots continues to compose, record and perform music to this exact moment in time.
