Marilyn Monroe was born under the name of Norma Jeane Mortenson. Not believing that Norma Jeane Mortenson would be helpful in marketing herself as an actress, she picked out a stage name or a screen name. And the question is, would I do the same if placed in Marilyn Monroe's shoes. The answer is that it already happened. I already have a screen name. I was born under the name Steven Harold Kaplan. I had my name legally changed to Steven Post Hitchcock on May 7, 1992. Naturally, I don't want to end up like Marilyn Monroe and die early at thirty-six years old from acute barbiturate poisoning. I doubt that such a thing will happen since I'm forty-three years old. Still, it's a tragedy that somebody that talented could die so early. Marilyn Monroe was born on June 1, 1926 and she died on August 5, 1962. She was Jewish. Anyway, here are some rare behind the scene photographs of Marilyn Monroe when she was in training.
Marilyn never had a stable family life. Her Biologic Father disowned her. Her Biologic Mother went crazy and lost custody. Her first adopted mother went crazy. Marilyn's first crazy Mother tried to kidnap Marilyn from her second crazy mother by sticking her into a duffle bag without oxygen. She accused two seperate foster families of rape and child molestation. Her final foster family changed their mind and chose to send her back to the orphanage. She ran away from her foster family to get married instead. Her first marriage was to military soldier named Jim Dougherty was started when she was sixteen years old in June 1942. The brief four year long marriage ended in 1946. The then named Norma Jeane Dougherty had to choose between marriage without fame or fame without marriage. She chose the second option. Anyway, this is a photo of Norma Jeane Dougherty before she was famous when she was an unknown factory worker.
She was also married to Joe DiMaggio only in the year 1954 and Arthur Miller between 1956 to 1961. She acted in 29 films before dying at age thirty-six. Movies were never the same again after she died.
