Time moves faster than we would've normally expected. We like to think ourselves as not having changed much in the past thirty-seven years. However, Nicholas Nixon was exploring that topic regarding his wife and his three sisters-in-law. So starting in 1975 and continuing to this exact year, Nicholas Nixon photographed as Heather Brown, Mimi Brown, BeBe Brown and Laurie Brown each year. The end result was a year by year study of the evolution of four women across the decades starting with the 1970's. The evolution in question is recorded in the 2014 published book The Brown Sisters: Forty Years by Nicholas Nixon as well as corresponding exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
