THE SONGS THAT SHE SINGS

Charlotte Lucy Gainsbourg was born in London, England on July 21, 1971.  Charlotte Gainsbourg is the second generation Hollywood royalty daughter of French musician Serge Gainsbourg (Born under the name Lucien Ginsburg, he releases some of his rock albums simply under the name Gainsbourg and others under his full name) and English musician and actress  Jane Birkin.  Her grandmother is film actress Judy Campbell.  Her uncle is film director, screenplay writer and film actor Andrew Birkin.  Jane Birkin acted in thirty-three movies and recorded nineteen albums.  Serge Gainsbourg released twenty albums did the film scores for seven movies.  Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg did only one album collaboration.  Charlotte Gainsbourg acted in forty movies and released four albums.  Charlotte Gainsbourg nearly had her film actress and rock star career fall apart when a water skiing acident resulted in a cerebral hemorrhage.  A few weeks went past before she was able to have brain surgery to correct the cerebral hemorrhage on September 5, 2007.  Charlotte Gainsbourg produced three children with film director and film actor Yvan Attal, but they never married and continue to live together.  Charlotte Gainsbourg released her first album in 1986 and her second album ten years later in 2006.  Her latest album was released in 2011.  While Charlotte Gainsbourg's mother Jane Birkin is still alive to this exact second, her father Serge Gainsbourg died of a heart attack on March 2, 1991.
