Film roles started in 1993 with acting roles in Clueless, Freeway, Don't Say a Word, Girl Interrupted, 8 Mile, Uptown Girls, Little Black Book among other film roles. She was the original version of Gloria the Penguin in the first of two Happy Feet animated cartoon films. Her death by drug overdose made it necessary for the role of Gloria to be recasted for the sequel. She was a series regular cast member of the primetime animated cartoon series King of the Hill where she was the voice of Luanne Leanne Platter Kleinschmidt---The unwanted house guest of the Hill Family who never moved out.
English born screenwriter Simon Monjack married Brittany Murphy in May 2007. Brittany Murphy became both an alcoholic and a drug addict. Brittany Murphy died at age 32 on December 20, 2009 from Pneumonia with secondary factors of iron-deficiency anemia and drug overdose. Her spouse, Simon Monjack committed suicide on May 23, 2010. Simon Monjack's death was almost identical to Brittany Murphy's death. Angelo Bertolotti refused to believe that his drug addicted film and television actress daughter Brittany Murphy died from a drug overdose and is still trying to prove that she was murdered as part of a paranoid conspiracy.
