Rachel Platten was born in Newton Centre, Massachusetts on May 20, 1984. Music lessons started early when it was at the age of five that she started learning to play the piano. For schooling, she traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts to attend Buckingham Browne & Nichols School from Kindergarden to twelfth grade. It was while at grades nine to twelve at Buckingham Brown and Nichols School that she learned to play the piano and was on the school choir. Though she got a degree in international relations at Trinity College at Hartford, Connecticut on 2003, she never used the college degree. Instead, she chose a career as a rock star by singing backup for a local rock band while attending college in 2002, released her debut album in 2003 while graduating college before relocating to Greenwich Village, New York City, New York to join a band called Dayz of Wild which played cover tunes originating from prince and sly and the family stone. She released her second album in 2011. In 2012, she got married to Kevin Lazan and started to write and perform her own music after dropping out of the cover tunes band. Her most recognizable song entitled Fight Song is from an album that technically hasn't been released yet, but is available on ITunes. The release of Rachel Platten's third album will soon be underway. Rachel Platten continues to record music and tour to support her music at this exact moment of time.
