There's a huge difference between the television shows that the CW Network inherited from both the late WB Network as well as the late UPN Network and the current slate of shows broadcast on the CW Network. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy all of the comic book super-hero shows that's currently on the CW Network. However, the television shows that originally aired when the CW Network started for the first time ever tended to veer more towards contemporary fiction/coming of age type of stories. The environment has changed from contemporary fiction/coming of age television shows to comic book super-hero television shows changed the corporate atmosphere for the CW Network so drastically, that when
Gilmore Girls got a four ninety minute episode television series revival, it was broadcast not on the original CW Network, but broadcast instead on Netflix. Netflix. Not CW Network, but Netflix. The CW Network didn't even try to fight against Netflix for the right to broadcast the
Gilmore Girls revival. But when the CW Network broadcasted Contemporary fiction/coming of age type of stories instead of comic book super-hero stories, it was kind of like capturing lightening in a bottle. Perhaps we'll see a mini series revival of
Dawson Creek on Netflix too someday.
