THE RETURN OF THE WIZARD OF OZ

Gentle Reader, are you ready for a brand new Wizard of Oz movie?  Hollywood is betting that you are ready for such a film.  And so an thirteenth Wizard of Oz film will soon approach us all.  First, there was the 1900 silent film version confusingly entitled The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.  Second was 1910 era film Dorothy and the Scarecrow in Oz.  Sadly, that film is lost.  Third was the 1910 era film The Land of Oz. Sadly, that film is lost.  Fourth was the 1910 era film John Dough and the Cherub.  Sadly, that film is lost.  Fifth was the 1914 era film The Patchwork Girl of Oz.  Sixth is the 1914 era film The Magic Cloak of Oz.  Seventh is the 1914 era film His Majesty, the Scarecrow of Oz.  Eighth is the 1939 era film the Wizard of Oz.  Ninth was the 1978 blaxploitation film The Wiz.  Tenth was the film Return to Oz.  Eleventh was the four and a half hour television miniseries aired on 2007 entitled Tin Man.  Twelfth was another television miniseries entitled The Witches of Oz.  Thirteenth was the 2013 era film Oz, The Great And Powerful staring James Franco, Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis.  So ladies, click your ruby red slippers while holding your pet dogs.  And remember don't fear the cowardly lion (He doesn't appear in the newest film though).  And don't look at the man hiding behind the curtain.  The Wizard of Oz is back in town.

Dorthey Gale doesn't show up in Oz, Great and Powerful.  Franco Mills does get to hang out with Mila Kunis as the Wicked Witch of the West and he gets to hang out with Michelle Williams as Glinda, the Good Witch of the South instead.  I guess Franco Mills as the Wizard of Oz doesn't need Dorthey Gale in his life.  I guess Franco Mills version of the Wizard of Oz was born to be alone.  Hey, there might be a sequel that introduces Franco Mills version of Dorthey Gale.  That's ok, The Wizard of Oz never shows up in Return to Oz, so I guess everything is even now.  Oh well, such things happen.
