THE FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN

Technically, Summer is over and has been replaced by Autumn.  In reality, it feels as if Summer never left.  I'm not ready for Autumn.  I'm not sure if anybody is truly ready for Autumn to be over.  However, the arrival of Autumn is reassurance that global warming isn't here yet to strike down the human race.  It's reassurance that there's still hope for the world---That there's still hope for us all.  So we embark upon Autumn with the understanding that Autumn is the gateway towards Winter.  So the outdoor temperature will eventually get cooler, but not yet.  Right now, it still feels like Summer.  I'm going to enjoy the lingering Summer-like weather for however long that it will last.
