The citizens of the Ancient Greek Empire and the Ancient Roman Empire that replaced it thought they discovered the gates of Hell. Located in the modern country of Turkey. The Ancient Greek Empire and the replacement Ancient Roman Empire called what they belived to be the actual gates to Hell Pluto's Gate (The Ancient Greek Empire called it Ploutonion and the Ancient Roman Empire called it Plutonium) And Pluto Gates was a huge religious shrine in the ancient city of Hierapolis, (The more modern name for Hierapolis is Pamukkale). Pluto's Gate was created in the second century BC (Somewhere close to the year 190 BC) by Greek monarch King Eumenes II of the city Pergamon located in the Greek province of
Aeolis. It was reduced from infrequently used shrine to an infrequently used shrine in the fourth century AD and the Christians destroyed it in the sixth (6th) Century A.D. Only the ruins of the shrine still remain.
