IN THE DAYS OF YOUTUBE
Today, the true power of the music industry is no longer MTV. There was once a time when not getting on MTV can empower or kill off a rock album release. At these days, the most successful rock album release is an album that's never promoted on MTV, but rather promoted almost exclusively on www.youtube.com. And Though MTV still has award shows that folks still pay attention it, that's only two days out of an entire year. And folks still pay attention on www.youtube.com twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. Maybe MTV killed the radio star, but it's YouTube who killed the MTV star. And these days, spending all evening watching www.youtube.com has become the coolest thing in the world to have done.
