SHE TOLD STORIES FROM THE CITY AND SHE TOLD STORIES FROM THE SEA AS SHE MADE ENGLAND SHAKE WITH FEAR

Polly Jean Harvey aka P.J. Harvey was born on October 9, 1969 in Bridport, Dorset, England.    Ray Harvey (A stonemason by trade) and Eva Harvey (a sculpture by trade) already had a child when P.J. Harvey was born.  She grew up in a rural farm in a rural farm community in Corscombe, Dorset, Engand.  She took music lessons and learned to play the piano, organ, bass, saxophone, harmonica and the autoharp.  She played guitar in the The Polekats before they broke up and she played the rhythm guitar for the The Three Stoned Weaklings before they broke up.  She studied for a visual arts degree at Yeovil College.  It was as a full time member of the rock band  Automatic Dlamini that she developed a lifelong friendship with John Parish.  She was a full time for the tour to support Automatic Dlamini's debut album (Which she had no role in the recording of) D is for Drum.  The only Automatic Dlamini album to actually feature P.J. Harvey as a participating full time member was their second (never released) album Here Catch, Shouted His Father.  She left Automatic dlamini after their second (Never released) album for a successful solo career.  Rob Ellis and Ian Olliver, two members from Automatic Dlamini, were members of P.J. Harvey's solo career for her first two albums Dry and Rid of Me.  P.J. Harvey's latest album, Let England Shake, was released in 2011.
