FROM THIS MOMENT ON

She is Cacuasian with Cree Native American India and Ojibwa Native American on her father's side of the family.  Eilleen Regina Edwards was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on August 28, 1965.  Sharon and Clarence Edwards were her parents.  Eileen has two sisters Jill and Carrie Ann.  Eileen was two when her parents divorced and Sharon Edwards married Jerry Twain.  And thus Eileen Edwards became Eileen Twain.  The family was poor and Eileen Twain would perform in alcohol taverns at the age of eight to help the family pay the bills.  She was the lead singer for the rock band Longshot and invited to perform on the Tommy Hunter Show at the age of 13.  And when Longshot fell apart, she became lead singer for the rock band Flirt.  She worked at her adopted father Jerry Twain's reforestation service and planted trees as a suppliment to her rock concert performances.  And when Flirt fell apart, she was encouraged to relocate from Canada to Nashville, Tennessee to become a country music singer.  She resisted being packaged as a country music singer and relocated back to Canada, but her resistance was short lived.  Eileen Twain finally chose to allow Nashville to package her as a country music performer after frequent discussions.
In 1987, Sharon Twain and Jerry Twain died in an automobile crash.  Eileen Twain dropped out of the music industry, moved back to Canada to raise her sisters Jill and Carrie Ann while performing rock and country music concerts in Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada.  And when Jill and Carrie Ann was old enough to graduate high school, Eileen Twain legally changed her name to Shania Twain.  Shania Twain got a contract at Mercury Nashville.  Her first country music album was a failure.  And that's when she hired, fell in love and later married Def Leppard heavy metal producer Mutt Lang and produced three more country music albums that made her an overnight country music singing blockbuster sensation.  She later divorced Mutt Lang and hasn't been able to record a follow up country music album.  The 2002 country music release Up! was Shania Twain's  last known release and she's currently performing in Las Vegas.
