HER BLUEBERRY NIGHTS

Geethali Norah Jones Shankar is half Caucasian and half Middle Eastern-American who was born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York.  Her mother was Sue Jones who works as a concert producer for American stage productions.  Her father was an entertainment legend sitar and Jazz (Mostly sitar) playing musician named Ravi Shankar (born under the name Robindro Shaunkor Chowdhury).  Geethali's half sister (Same father, but different mothers) is a sitar playing musician named Anoushka Shankar (Her father is Ravi Shankar and her mother is Sukanya Shankar).  Geethali was born first on  March 30, 1979.  Anoushka (Solo and a member of Ravi shankar's backup band) was born next on June 9, 1981.  Geethali first attended public high school at Grapevine High School before switching to Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.  Summers was spent in a summer school called Interlochen Center for the Arts.  Upon graduating public school, she attended The University of North Texas where she majored in jazz piano, but she dropped out for a career in the entertainment industry.   Geethali Shankar had her name legally changed to Norah Jones.
She was a member of the band the Wax Poetic, but I'm not sure if she actually recorded any albums with them.  She was a member of the Little Willies for only two albums before becoming famous.  She also played in the backup band for Peter Malick and Charlie Hunter.  She recorded five albums and a temporary collaboration with Danger Mouse,  Daniele Luppi and Jack White on the album Rome.  Norah Jones went steady with Lee Alexander from 2000 to 2007, but she isn't going steady with anybody right now.  She hangs out in her father Ravi Shankar's house in New Delhi, India from time to time.  Her first and biggest acting role was the lead female role in the film My Blueberry Nights.  Norah Jone's latest album was released in 2012.  Norah Jones continues to record music and tour to support her music at this exact moment of time.
