SARAH CRACKNELL AKA SAINT ETIENNE AND ANNIE CLARK AKA ST. VINCENT ARE ROMAN CATHOLIC SAINTS
St. Vincent aka Annie Clark was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 28, 1982. Tuck Andress of the folk music group Tuck and Patti is Annie Clark's uncle. And after she learned to play the guitar at the age of twelve, she found employment as the tour manager for Tuck and Patti's rock concert tour. Upon graduating Lake Highlands High School, Annie Clark attended Berklee College of Music before dropping out one year before graduation. Concluding that college wasn't for her, she chose a career as a rock star instead. Her first album, an ep entitled was released during her brief three year enrollment at Berklee College of Music under her birth name. Her second ep album, released in 2006 was the first appearance of her self-proclaimed nickname of St. Vincent. Her debut album, Marry Me, was released in 2007. Her second album, Actor, was released in 2009. Her third album, Strange Mercy, was released in 2011. Her fourth album, a collaboration with former Talking Heads lead singer David Byrne, Love This Giant, was released in 2012. Annie Clark aka St. Vincent plays the theremin, piano, organ, guitar and bass guitar.
