Icona Pop is composed of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo.  Hear them both roar.

Caroline Hjelt was born somewhere near Stockholm, Sweden on November 8, 1987.

 

Aino Jawo was also born somewhere near Stockholm, Sweden on July 7, 1986.  She is half Caucasian and half African-European from the African nation of Gambia.

It was somewhere on February 2009 when Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo met for the first time at a party and chose to form a duet band together.  It took four weeks for Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo to write enough songs together to fill up a full length concert.  Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo were starting to get good reviews within two years of the founding of their duet rock group.  Since relocating to the United States of America, Caroline and Aino have been living and working both in Los Angelas, California and New York City, New York.
