Bijou Lilly Phillips was born in
Greenwich, Connecticut on April 1, 1980. Bijou Lilly Phillips is the second generation Hollywood royalty daughter of rock star John Phillips of the
legendary rock band the Mamas & the Papas. Bijou Phillips is the half sister (Same father, but different mothers) of famous celebrity Mackenzie Phillips and she's the biologic sister of famous celebrity Chynna Phillips (of the rock band trio Wilson Phillips). Bijou is also the direct biologic sister of Tamerlane Phillips and the half sister of Jeffrey Phillips. She's the youngest of John Phillips' children. She was placed in foster care with a foster family when both parents were found unfit to be parents while getting a divorce. It wasn't until she reached third grade in elementary school when John Phillips won primary guardianship over his daughter Bijou. Bijou Phillips moved to Lloyd Harbor, Huntington, Long Island. However, Bijou Phillips never considered her father, John Phillips, of being fit to be a parent. She dropped out of school at the age of fourteen, sued her parents and gained legal emancipation to live on her own. She got her own apartment and lived as an adult in a fourteen year old body. She never regretted her choise never to continue with Junior High, her refusal to enter High School or ever get a GED either. And living nearby Fifth Avenue in New York City and having enough money to afford her apartment without working minimum wage and never having to clean because she had her very own housekeeper was liberating. She threw alcohol parties with lots of alcohol and drugs and got wasted frequently at the age of fourteen with the intent of being an ex-junkie before her twenty-first birthday (Unless she's still getting drunk and stoned). After all, her Father John Phillips did lots of drugs and alcohol so why not do so too. She knew where to look for the drugs too.
Bijou Phillips became an actress first starting in 1999. She started a rock star career also in 1999, but it was her movie career that she's better known for. She never aspired to record a follow up to her 1999 debut album preferring to make movies instead. Bijou Phillips currently has a recurring role in the television sitcom series
Raising Hope.
