Rome wasn't built in a day. It took decades, perhaps even centuries for Rome to be built. And while Rome was being built, most Italians wasn't aware that the newly created city of Rome was destined for greatness. Perhaps at first, most Italians thought that Rome was just another city. Another common city like all others. The reputation that Rome was the city you had to be seen in was a slow and gradual process. And most folks in Rome probably wasn't aware it was going on at the time. And though I can't afford to vacation in Rome, Italy anytime soon, I enjoy looking at photos of the city of Rome. Ah yes, Rome, Italy looks like a fun city to visit someday. Until then, I'll just admire photos of the city of Rome, Italy while enjoying the Summer in the state of Maine.
