REI KAWAKUBO/COMME DES GARCONS: THE ART OF THE IN-BETWEEN

Met Gala aka the Costume Institute Gala aka the Met Ball is held at and is an annual charity fundraising event to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute located in New York City. The Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit also opens on the Met Ball, but the opening day of the annual fashion exhibit is a celebrity only event. The price for tickets to attend the Met Ball is $30,000, however the event is still invitation only. Meaning, first you're invited to purchase a ticket to the Met Ball. Second, you have to pay $30,000 for a ticket once you're invited to purchase a ticket. Like I said, this is a celebrity only charity fundraising event. Each Met Ball has a theme and this year's theme is : Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between. Rei Kawakubo is a fashion designer and Comme des Garcons is the fashion designing company that she owns. Comme des Garcons is Spanish for Like Some Boys. So I guess the Met Ball and the theme of the charity fundraising is to celebrate the clothing design for fashion designer Rei Kawakubo. Yeah, I guess it's possible for a woman to find a Rei Kawakubo dress at the nearby shopping mall after finding $30,000.00 each person for a night on the town. And that's not including food and transportation which no doubt will be extra.
