And an ice cube is a mighty and powerful force of nature while you see it outside with the temperature in the single digits and with snow on the ground.  The Winter season landscape is perfect for an ice cube's existence.  And then you bring the ice cube inside.  Upon which, the ice cube starts to melt.  The ice cube which was powerful and formable looking outside in the Winter cold turns into a weakling which melts away to nothing without much of a struggle.  And then the once powerful and mighty ice cube becomes a puddle of water.  And thus is the rise and fall of ice cubes in the Winter.
