WASHING MACHINES

It's hard to imagine a world before washing machines.  Clothes had to be washed by hand in a tub.  There were other processes involved too.  There was a hand cranked wringer involved, but clothes with buttons involved don't fit in the clothes wringer somehow.  And clothes were dried on the clothes line.  Not so anymore.  These days some detergent and the clothes are washed in a machine.  There's a second machine to dry the clothes.  And when I had my apartment at Lexington Park, I would use the coin operated machines available on the apartment complex.  Here, the washing machine use is free.  Ok, there's the water bill to consider.  There's the electric bill to consider also.  Plus the detergent has to be paid for.  So it's not completely free.  Still, I'm thankful for the invention of both the washing machine an the dryer machine.  Both inventions make the cleaning of clothes so much easier than it ever has been in the past.
And as I'm lost in thought about the washing machine being used to clean clothing attire, here are some photos of Aubrey Plaza.
