LONDON BELONGS TO HER
The daughter of Derek Cracknell---The first first assistant director to Stanley Kubrick, Sarah Cracknell was born on April 12, 1967 in Chelmsford, Essex, England. Sarah Cracknell produced one solo albums and eight more as the lead singer of the British dance music band Saint Etienne. Saint Etienne combines 1960's style music of Petula Clark with modern alternative dance music of the 1990's. Yeah, it's a weird combination, but for Sarah Cracknell, the 1960's never truly died---It just lives on in the hearts of the next generation for years to come. I remember hearing the debut album of Saint Etienne playing over the stereo system of a High Street based independent record store that doesn't exist anymore and I was hooked instantly. I've been a huge fan of Sarah Cracknell's music ever since.
