Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Great Britain, on December 25, 1954, Ann "Annie" Lennox had the special distinction of being born on Christmas Day. Born to an impoverished family in a small apartment with two rooms, she managed to attend Aberdeen High School for Girls (later named Harlaw Academy) and later attended the Royal Academy of Music. She briefly was the lead singer of a rock band called the Devil's Playground, but quit before they appeared in the BBC television talent show game show called New Faces. Annie Lennox met David Allan Stewart and they joined the band the Catch. The Catch was renamed the Tourists and released three albums before breaking up. Anne Lennox and David Stewart formed a more streamlined version of the Tourists which had only two members instead of five called the Eurythmics. The Eurythmics released eight albums before breaking up. With Annie Lennox alliance with David Stewart ended forever, she released two solo albums before doing one last Eurythmics album with David Stewart. The alliance between Annie Lennox and David Stewart ended a second and permanently final time. Annie Lennox released three more albums. The most recent Annie Lennox album was filled with Christmas music which was released two years ago in 2010.
