LIGHT BULBS

Gentle Reader, can you imagin what life must've been like if we were only able to use candles instead of using light bulbs?  That if there was no matches available, it's either rub two sticks together or there would be no light for the day.  How much would a book of matches cost.  And if there was only one match left and payday won't arrive for another week.  Oh yes, you also need to cook in the fireplace since electric stoves hasn't been invented yet.  So now you're stuck having to decide if you want to eat or if you want to sit in a lighted room at night.  Then there's the next day without either cooked food or light to illuminate your home.  Then you're walking from neighbor to neighbor asking, "Do you have any matches for me to borrow for the week."  And you have only fourteen matches exactly to last for the rest of the week.  Strike the match and make it count.  If one match misfires then that's one match that you can't use for either cooking or home illumination.  Ah yes, then you thank GOD for electricity.  Oh no, you keep forgetting that today is August 4, 2012 and electricity hasn't been invented yet.  So you ride your horse to farm the fields again.
